As our next staff profile introduction, meet Courtney Shattuck, our accomplished Senior Content Producer who has been an integral part of the Tri-Marq team for the past 8 years. Originally from Barrington, Illinois, Courtney pursued her education at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where she earned accolades both academically and athletically. From being ‘Academic All-American,’ in High School, to earning the ‘Dean’s Award for Scholarly Excellence,’ her Senior year of College, Courtney’s determination and talent have always set her apart. Upon graduation, Courtney worked for the ABC/NBC affiliate in Peoria, IL. Despite her original path of being an on-air talent, Courtney found her true calling in the control room. She transitioned to directing live newscasts, but was quickly moved into a Producer position after Upper Management took notice of her knack for connecting with clients.
Beyond her professional achievements, Courtney is a die-hard Cubs fan, and a fantasy baseball aficionado. She’s also an avid golfer, and a devoted fan of Star Trek and Golden Girls. Courtney’s 16th birthday is a memory she will never forget: as a member of Medinah Country Club, she was chosen to be the Standard Bearer, at the PGA Championship, for the ultimate group – Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Geoff Ogilvy. She garnered widespread media attention for her unique birthday celebration. The Chicago Times even picked up the story, publishing an article called “Spending Your Sweet 16 with Tiger? PRICELESS!” Courtney was also on the board for a Milwaukee centered childhood cancer fundraising organization, Women for MACC, which left a lasting impact on her personally and professionally. No one can quite describe Courtney’s projects quite like herself, “It’s a privilege to be a part of projects I’m extremely passionate about. Like spreading awareness for childhood cancer each year, projection mapping on over thirty tables and an enormous cake, and telling the stories of Medal of Honor Recipients for a museum exhibit. I feel incredibly blessed to have had opportunities like these in my career. I’m also grateful to have met and worked with so many wonderful people along the way.”
Courtney has two sets of words of wisdom, the first comes from Janis Joplin: “Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.” The second is from Jimi Hendrix, “Knowledge speaks, but Wisdom listens.” You might hear Courtney say, “Work comes before all else,” but we know this is just her way of expressing the pride she has surrounding her career successes. At Tri-Marq, we are so grateful to have Courtney as part of our team. Her passion, dedication, and very spirited personality are what makes her such an integral part of our team and the successful woman she is.
