It’s time for another volunteer profile! This week the spotlight is on our intern, Lauren. She spent her winter break and her summer vacation as our marketing intern. She has a great passion for animals and puts her volunteer time into caring for them at local farms. She also previously volunteered at Lifestriders, a therapeutic riding center that uses horses to help children with disabilities. Thanks for all your hard work!
Lauren has been interning for Tri-Marq this last year throughout her college breaks. Lauren has worked with the sales and marketing department on many of our projects. Although she has learned a lot about marketing, her real passion lies in the medical field as she continues in nursing school at Carroll University.
Lauren began volunteering at LifeStriders, a therapeutic riding organization, during middle school. LifeStriders is a non-profit organization that uses equine therapy (hippo therapy) to help children with cognitive and physical disorders. In 2009, Lauren received a Bronze Presidential Service Award for her volunteer hours spent at LifeStriders.
Lauren gave a majority of her high school volunteer hours to the Waukesha County Sheriff Explorer program. The program’s goals are to give youth a chance to explore the career of being a police officer. Lauren’s post assisted the sheriff’s department during county events as extra eyes and ears for the officers on duty.
Currently, Lauren spends her time volunteering at Moraine Trails Farm, a local farm that raises beef cattle. A majority of her volunteer hours include cleaning pens and feeding calves.
