Giving Thanks By Giving Back: Gavin’s Story of Resilience + Hope

November 25, 2014  by Dan Kosan

By Tri-Marq Editor Dan Kosan: In this season of being thankful and the spirit of the holidays, I’m so grateful that Tri-Marq gives me the chance to share my creative knowledge and expertise so that I can help others. This year, I was given the opportunity to share Gavin’s story.

Over the past two years, I have had the opportunity to be part of our production team for the video we create for the Women for MACC, “Couture for a Cure” fashion show, benefiting Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. I have met some truly amazing people along the way, and have found tremendous personal fulfillment in helping, in some small way, this incredibly worthy cause.

I am proud to work for a company that values giving back to our community. Over the years, I have worked on shows for The Benedict Center, The National Kidney Foundation, Susan G. Komen Southeast Wisconsin, and Marquette University in addition to Children’s Hospital. For me, aligning my skills and my community is extremely important to feel fulfilled in what I do.

Tri-Marq sponsored the production services for this year’s video, titled “A Future Is Possible.” Our services included pre-production, on-location shooting, and post-production. Tom Richardson, Greg Ideran, and I went to meet the family of a little boy battling leukemia. Meeting Gavin Bugalski, along with his family, nurses, and doctors, we put together a story of resilience, hope, and love. The end result was very well received. My greatest satisfaction was helping to share the story in addition to gaining even more appreciation for what true strength and resolve it takes to battle cancer, especially at a young age. It is these people and these moments in life that we carry with us for years and years. I am humbled by the opportunities that I have had to make a difference.
