‘Pray’ is a passion project for Tri-Marq and Marquette. The video was first created in 2008. We revise it every season because of its popularity.
We captured Coach Shaka Smart along with former players like Bo Ellis, Dwyane Wade, Travis Diener, and Wes Matthews. With Marquette’s rich basketball history, we combined historical footage with game highlights, adding an exciting edge for this D1 team. The video airs at games to hype the crowd, players, and coaches. And it serves as part of the recruitment of young players.
In downtown Milwaukee, there is an area that stretches 100 acres. In this stretch of 100 acres, lies a nation. We have our own flag. Our own fight song. We wear blue and gold. As we celebrate Marquette basketball this is what you should know. You mess with one. You mess with us all. Don’t let the 100 acres fool you. We span a far greater area than that. To a nation with 120,000 strong. Pride knows no boundaries. Passion has no limits. You will know when you are in trouble. You will know that today is not your day. You will hear a chant of three words. We are Marquette! And when you hear that, pray.
Congratulations to both men’s and women’s teams for their selection into the 2024 NCAA tournament. Marquette is one of 22 schools in the nation with both teams in the tournament. Go Marquette!
