Brand the Elevators

An event’s theme and brand play a vital role in its success. Countless hours are spent developing and refining an event’s brand and tagline, then more time is spent adding visual life to that tagline. Maximizing opportunities to expand that tagline or brand outside of the meeting space can be an effective way to add value to an event. 

At recent three-day user conference, I counted the number of times that I stood in the lobby elevator bank waiting for an open elevator. It was 17 times! However, as with most events, I spend the majority of my time in the general session ballroom, but it occurred to me that most attendees would spend considerably more time waiting in an elevator bank.

Branding the Elevators

This is where the idea of elevator clings popped into my head. Elevator clings are an interesting and relatively inexpensive way to extend an events theme beyond the general session space. And I have to admit I much prefer elevator clings to window clings… 

When you are on an event site, you jump in and help wherever you are needed, even if that means the director, graphics producer, and audio lead get the job of helping the meeting planner hang window clings in Mexico City. It is a fun story, ask me sometime and I will gladly share it with you—just hopefully not while we are hanging window clings.

For the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AE For the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM)'s 2025 Annual Meeting in Miami, FL we had the chance to bring their theme–“The Art of Balance”–to life in a fun way. We created a stage setup built around eight LED “paintings,” each designed to move. Working with an automation team from Atlanta, we engineered a backdrop where the two center pieces moved up and down, almost like the scales of justice finding their balance.

On the design side, our graphics team took AEM’s theme artwork and ran with it, building out all the on-screen visuals for the show. At AEM’s request, we used AI tools to create custom imagery for every presenter, including stylized headshots that fit right into the overall look and feel.

With our event and design teams collaborating with our longtime client of 28 years, our work with AEM leading up to show day was off the charts, yet again. Together, we pulled off a stage experience that felt fresh, dynamic, and totally on-theme—and everyone loved it.

WHY: The event brought together nearly 2,000 independent Real Estate Brokers for a two-day, fun-filled event produced by Tri-Marq. Real is a fully remote organization. This event provides time for brokers to connect face-to-face, network, and explore the latest product releases.
HOW: After working with @realbrokerage for 4 years, we’ve created a strong, trusted partnership with the organization. REAL trusts Tri-Marq to produce an unforgettable experience that keep attendees talking until next year’s conference. Each meeting we raise the bar with new concepts and elevated production, year after year.
