Having worked with Marquette Basketball since 2008, we’ve had the opportunity to work on many exciting projects over the years. One crowd-favorite collaboration is a video called ‘Pray.’ Showcasing well-known Marquette alum players and coaches, the video is so popular it consistently captivates MUBB fans, especially during basketball season, thanks to its power to inspire and energize.
The project, originally produced as a player intro video in 2008, was such a hit with fans that it received a refresh in 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the university’s basketball program. The updated video was reworked to feature Marquette alumni with a focus on the history of MUBB and has been updated with new highlights nearly every year since.
Due to the long-life of this video collaboration, Tri-Marq has worked with different athletic directors over the years. The first cut was conceived in 2008 by Craig Pintens who was Assistant AD and Marketing Director at the time. What began as a print ad, Pintens challenged Tri-Marq to evolve it into a dynamic project – designing a custom script tailored to Marquette and transforming it into a moving picture, featuring dramatic on-camera performances by players.
Then in 2017, with the help of Senior Athletic Director, Scott Kuykendall, the video was revived for the Centennial Hoopla season, celebrating 100 Years of Marquette Basketball. Today, we work closely with assistant and associate Athletic Directors Brian Begley and Brian Morgan to bring Marquette fans an updated cut each season.
The updates to ‘Pray’ keep the tradition alive, with fresh highlights that celebrate both Marquette’s historic victories and the current team’s winning seasons. It’s a video that fans look forward to and a bridge between Marquette’s past and the excitement of each new season. Our collaboration has allowed us to be creative by combining new footage and classic shots, honoring Marquette legends spanning each generation brought to the court.
From the enthusiastic fans to the team’s unforgettable performances, ‘Pray’ has become a tradition in its own right—one that inspires everyone. At Tri-Marq, we’re honored to play a part in documenting Marquette Basketball’s legacy. And even more thrilled to see how our work continues to resonate with fans year after year.
